Apple brings 2nd generation iPhone SE amid coronavirus fear


Amid Coronavirus fear, where people constantly think about losing their jobs & upgrading a phone will be the least priority. Apple is ready to bring back iPhone SE2 (2nd Generation) as budget friendly smartphone.

Apple launched its first iPhone SE in 2016 but now, Apple is ready to launch its first 2020 iPhone SE2 which costs around $399. iPhone SE2 has power of iPhone 11 in the body of iPhone 8. It is a clear attempt to bring more people in the Apple ecosystem who cannot afford Apple usual iPhone prices.

Features of iPhone SE2:-

  • iPhone SE2 features 4.7 inch Retina display which is smaller screen as compared to iPhone 11.
  • When it comes to power iPhone SE2 will be running on A13 Bionic Chipset which is also featured in iPhone 11 Pro & iPhone Pro Max.
  • It has single camera on the back with 12 megapixel sensor. Apple also claims that it supports Smart HDR feature which means better quality for photography. Apple also added new monocular depth estimation feature to offer the portrait mode. For selfie lovers, it has 7 MP camera on the front with an f/2.2 aperture.
  • The Touch ID fingerprint sensor additionally shows up under the screen.
  • 2nd Generation iPhone SE additionally supports quick & wireless charging.
  • Another feature is set to be its battery life, Company promises to have a great battery life on iPhone SE2 but Apple has not confirmed the battery size yet. 



iPhone SE2 will be available in three variants - 64GB, 128GB & 256GB. It also supports Dual Sim. It is IP67 dust and water resistant. Apple set new iPhone SE release date on April 24. 

In India, the starting price of the iPhone SE2 - 64GB variant is starting at Rs.42000/- where as in other countries it costs starting at just $399 / £419 / AU$749. Other variants prices have not been announced yet for India. Now, it would be great to see how iPhone SE2 will perform in India amid coronavirus lockdown.
